An ingenious invention: the air fryer

Those who know me know that I cook all my dishes without oil in 99 per cent of all cases.

The reason for this is that oil is pure extracted fat that has almost nothing in common with the food from which it was obtained. Of course I do consume fat; however, I get my fat from whole foods like whole olives, coconuts etc.

While frying with water (in a pan) is super easy, some dishes are a bit more difficult to prepare without any oil. I make my own fries from whole potatoes with my own seasoning but sometimes I found it difficult to prepare in the normal oven as the fries would get rather sticky.

Therefore, I am the proud owner of one of the most brilliant inventions ever: an air fryer! Even if you do use oil, it is recommended not to use more than 1 teaspoon in the air fryer.  

Air fryers use hot air to fry the food, and the texture can actually become quite similar to the texture of deep fried food. The air is circulating rapidly and cooks the food more evenly than a normal oven – and it does not get sticky.

I can highly recommend air fryers to anyone who wishes to use less or no oil for cooking but wants the same crispy results!
